12/3 at 11:22 a.m. Sherry A. Batemen, 50, of Jordan Avenue, was arrested on Tibbetts Drive by Officer Justin Dolci on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.

12/3 at 12:54 p.m. Jonathan E. Hummel, 50, no address listed, was arrested on Pleasant Street by Officer Daniel Sylvain on an outstanding warrant.

12/3 at 9:23 p.m. Gary K. Hersom, 52, of Adams Landing, Topsham, was arrested on Pleasant Street by Officer Patrick Scott on charges of operating under the influence and operating without a license.

12/5 at 9:10 p.m. Shawn C. Crosson, 28, of Union Street, was arrested on Pleasant Street by Officer Patrick Scott on a charge of being a habitual motor vehicle offender.

Meeting mayhem

12:4 at 8:01 p.m. Police responded to a complaint about “loud noises” coming from the parking lot of the school superintendent’s office at 46 Federal St. The noise was caused by attendees of a School Board meeting that had just adjourned.

One person’s trash is another person’s suspicious box

12/4 at 11:47 a.m. Police responded to a complaint about a “suspicious box” near the approach to the Frank J. Woods Bridge. A quick investigation revealed that the box was full of trash.
