7/27 at 12 p.m. Russell Scott Brown, 43, of Theodore Drive, was arrested by Officer Julia Gillespie on Old Bath Road on a charge of violating condition of release, operating after habitual offender revocation and attaching false plates.

7/27 at 3:10 p.m. Travis D. Crum, 44, of Middle Street, Bath, was arrested by Officer Patrick Mahar on Maine Street a charge of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.

Boxed-in fox

7/26 at 1:43 p.m. A Merepoint Road resident called to report that he had trapped a fox and wanted an animal control officer to take it away. Officers responded and found that the man had caught the fox in a culvert and blocked each end with a shovel and a pitchfork. They told him to let the fox go, and explained that he couldn’t trap a wild animal and expect them to take it away.

Unpatriotic

7/27 at 11:55 a.m. A Merryman Lane resident reported that his American flag had been stolen from its post outside his front porch within the past 15 minutes. Officers could not located the flag.

Copper stolen from future police station site

8/1 at 9:10 a.m. About $1000 worth of copper piping was ripped out of 1 Stanwood St., the vacant building on the corner of Pleasant and Stanwood Street that is being considered for demolition to make way for a police station. Police are investigating the theft.
