3/30 at 3:57 p.m. Kelly J. Cairns, 48, of 25 Federal St., was arrested on Pleasant Street on a charge of operating under the influence.

3/30 at 4:53 p.m. Timothy Patrick Fraser, 39, of 13 Heath St., was arrested on Garrison Street on two warrant charges.

3/30 at 4:53 p.m. Michael D. Elwell, 50, of 45 Garrison St., was arrested on Garrison Street on a charge of aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs.

3/30 at 4:53 p.m. Nicholas William Caron, 26, of 476 Stevens Ave., Portland, was arrested on Garrison Street on a charge possession of Oxycodone.

An item appearing in the April 1 edition of Police Beat incorrectly stated that Kimberly J. Holbrook, 39, of 118 Church Road, was charged with operating under the influence. Although Holbrook was arrested and taken to the Brunswick Police Department, the OUI charge was subsequently dropped. The error was due to incomplete information provided by police. 

Pharmacopoeia

3/30 at 4:53 p.m. Police and Maine Drug Enforcement agents arrested four men at 45 Garrison Street after serving a search warrant for drugs. According to Cmdr. Marc Hagan, a Special Response Team was used to enter the premises due to threats against police by Michael D. Elwell. Elwell was arrested on a charge of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs after police seized about 230 prescription pills at his residence. Another man, Timothy Patrick Fraser, 39, was arrested on two warrant charges. According to police, two other men, Nicholas William Caron, 26, of Portland, and Sean M. Owen, 25, of Harpswell, were arrested after showing up after the raid. Caron was charged with possession of Oxycodone, while Owen was charged with possession of a scheduled drug. Hagan would not comment if the raid was part of a larger investigation, or how Elwell allegedly came into possession of the drugs.
