BATH — A Brunswick man was arrested Saturday night and charged with stalking his former girlfriend.

Luke Toothaker, 22, was arrested as he sat in his car in a Commercial Street parking lot outside the woman’s workplace just after 9 p.m., Police Lt. Robert Savary said.

The woman reported to police that she had ignored several text messages from Toothaker, but the messages kept coming.

Savary said the two have “a history of threatening,” and alleged that Toothaker was in possession of several knives at the time of his arrest.

“He was waiting outside for really no reason other than to intimidate her,” Savary said.

Toothaker was taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset, and held until Monday, when he was released on $1,000, according to a jail administrator.

He is scheduled to appear in West Bath District Court on Sept. 2.
