BRUNSWICK — The town’s Master Plan Implementation Committee is holding a public forum on Monday, March 17, at 5:30 p.m. on a Maine Department of Transportation plan to reroute Route 24 in Brunswick and Topsham.
The forum, to be held at the Council Chambers at the new Town Hall, 85 Union St., will feature a presentation by Peter Coughlin, DOT’s community services division director.
Coughlin will detail the state’s plan and process to reroute Route 24, beginning at the intersection with Route 196 in Topsham and ending at the intersection with Gurnet Road, through Route 1. That portion of Route 24, which runs through downtown Brunswick on Maine Street, will be renamed Business Route 24.
