BRUNSWICK — A major road construction project will close portions of College Street and Park Row for two weeks starting Tuesday.

Other parts of College Street are expected to close throughout the summer during the project, which is expected to be complete by the end of September.

For now, a section of College Street, between Park Row and Maine Street, and a section of  Park Row, between South Street and Maine Street, will be closed until at least June 18, according to the Public Works Department.

As a result, sidewalks on College Street between Maine Street and Park Row will be closed during that time.

Pedestrians seeking access through the area asked to use the crosswalks and sidewalks on Maine Street at McKeen Street.

In addition, motorists seeking access to College Street from Harpswell Road should find alternate routes.

Public Works Director John Foster said the construction project will change College Street’s two Y-intersections, at Maine Street and at Harpswell Road, into T-intersections.

Four raised-table crosswalks will be added to College Street to increase safety for the college area, which typically has a large volume of pedestrian traffic.
