BRUNSWICK — The Village Review Board will host a walking tour of Maine Street on May 18 at 10 a.m. in observation of National Historic Preservation Month and Pejepscot Historical Society’s Community Appreciation Day.

The “Focus on Maine Street” tour, guided by local historian Dick Snow, is also being held to help promote the Brunswick Downtown Association’s effort to have the Maine Street commercial area recognized as a National Register Historic District.

The tour will begin at the Pejepscot Museum & Research Center on 159 Park Row.

In addition, Pejepscot Historical Society will offer free tours of Joshua L. Chamberlain Museum and Skolfield-Whittier House to residents of Brunswick, Topsham and Harpswell between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Throughout May the Village Review Board is also hosting a “Focus on Maine Street” photo exhibit at the Brunswick Visitors Center at Maine Street Station. The exhibit ends May 31.
