BRUNSWICK — All Saints Parish will have a new amusement provider at this year’s bazaar at St. John’s School, ending its relationship with Smokey’s Greater Shows.

The new contractor, Amyland Amusements, is from Vermont. The parish moved the contract in January, according to Amy Pelletier, co-director of the bazaar, and issued a press release welcoming Amyland on Tuesday night.

Maine-based Smokey’s Greater Shows, which ran the carnival for more than 30 years, according to Pelletier, has been under scrutiny after four people were injured at a Waterville carnival last weekend.

“We just wanted to assure the public,” Pelletier said. “I’m sure there are people who are questioning.”

The bazaar opens Friday, June 19, at 5 p.m.
