BRUNSWICK — The University of Maine at Augusta is making its Bachelor of Science in Aviation program available at Brunswick Landing.

Starting with the fall semester, UMA first-year students who enroll in the aviation program will have the option of taking classes at the Brunswick Landing campus of Southern Maine Community College, instead of the Augusta campus.

“We have expanded the aviation program to Brunswick in hopes of being able to offer it to more students,” Greg Jolda, aviation program coordinator, said in a press release. “By collaborating with Southern Maine Community College to provide dorm rooms at Brunswick Landing, we can now offer housing to aviation students who want to relocate from out of state or parts of Maine that are too far away to commute.”

UMA’s Bachelor in Aviation is the only program in Maine where students can graduate with a bachelor’s degree and commercial pilot certification at the same time.
