Earth, wind and 50,000 volts

4/5 at 1:34 a.m. Officers observed a pick-up truck parked in the town-owned lot on Maquoit Bay after sunset, a violation of town rules. According to the police report, a patrol officer approached the window of the vehicle and saw Andrew S. Dehahn, 39, of 194 Meadow Road, Topsham, sleeping in it. The officer reportedly told Dehahn that he needed to leave. According to police, Dehahn replied, “Nobody owns the land, this is planet Earth.” The officer said he would issue Dehahn a written warning, but Dehahn allegedly refused to sign it, at one point saying, “I don’t like your kind.” The incident escalated when Dehahn attempted to drive away, but then stopped. Police say he then refused to submit to arrest, at which point an officer used a Taser to subdue him. Dehahn was charged with failure to provide correct name or address, criminal trespass, refusing
to submit to arrest or detention and use of drug paraphernalia.
