Bowdoin’s Russell Halliday scored with 5.8 seconds remaining to force overtime in the Polar Bears’ 12-11 victory over Colby Sunday in NESCAC playoff action. The Polar Bears scored twice in the final 20 seconds of regulation, then got a goal from Ben Chadwick in overtime to advance to Saturday’s semifinals against Middlebury.
Bowdoin’s women, despite freshman Carolyn Gorajek’s two goals and two assists, weren’t as fortunate as they lost, 14-12, to Williams in the quarterfinals. Bowdoin fell to 10-6 with the loss.
