Another win for men’s lacrosse

The spring sports season continues at Bowdoin, while three members of a winter team have one final hurrah.
Men’s lacrosse
The Bowdoin men’s lacrosse team is now 4-1 on the season and ranked 13th nationally after Saturday’s stirring 10-9 home win over Amherst. Robert Burkhardt made 18 saves and Harry Ashforth had three goals for the Polar Bears. Kit Smith added two goals and two assists. Bowdoin (3-0 in NESCAC play) was home with Keene State Wednesday (too late for this edition), goes to Connecticut College Saturday and plays at Springfield April 1.
Women’s lacrosse
The Bowdoin women’s lacrosse team rolled to a 12-8 home win over Endicott last Wednesday, then lost 5-4 at Amherst Saturday. In the victory, the Polar Bears got three goals from Katy Dissinger. Against Amherst, Bowdoin couldn’t hold a late 4-3 lead and fell to 3-3 on the season (0-3 in NESCAC play). Steph Collins-Finn made 10 saves. After hosting Wheaton Wednesday (too late for this edition), the Polar Bears are home against Central Connecticut Saturday (12 p.m.) and the University of Southern Maine Sunday (1 p.m.).
Tennis
Bowdoin’s men’s tennis team is 4-2 after last Wednesday’s 5-4 victory over Trinity in a match played at Pomona, Cal. The women lost 6-3 to Redlands Wednesday to fall to 3-4 on the season.
Women’s basketball
Women’s basketball players Maria Noucas and Alexa Kaubris will play in the New England Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Association Senior All-Star Game Saturday at Western New England College. They’ll be coached by Bowdoin’s Adrienne Shibles.
