This sign erected by the Carrying Place Assembly on Route 123 in Harpswell was scratched and tagged with spray paint over the weekend. Gary Anderson, a member of the group that wants to re-establish the town’s historical border with Brunswick, said he noticed the damage on Sunday afternoon and later reported it to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department. Anderson said the sign would cost an estimated $1,500 to repair.
