PORTLAND — Police responding to the report of a person in the water at the Ocean Gateway Terminal Tuesday morning, July 20, recovered the body of a dead man.

The discovery was made at 5:47 a.m.

The man, in his 60s, has been tentatively identified as a homeless person. Police are not releasing his name until relatives can be notified. They said the death does not appear to be suspicious and an autopsy is scheduled for this week.
