BRUNSWICK — Bob Dascenzo, 61, died March 25 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston of heart failure related to Amyloid disease.

He was born in Norwalk, Conn., Jan. 26, 1953, the son of Patsy and Audrey Pierce Dascenzo. He attended New Canaan schools and during his adolescence, assisted with tasks at his father’s gas stations, where he developed an interest in mechanics and cars.

He moved from Connecticut to Maine in 1975 living in Raymond, Wiscasset and eventually settling in Brunswick. Dascenzo pursued his interest in mechanics, working on outboards and snowmobiles before transitioning to car sales. He worked at Bodwell Chrysler Jeep Dodge for a total of 20 years. He considered the Bodwells and all who worked there as a part of his extended family.

Dascenzo enjoyed living in Maine, taking rides along the coastline, hiking and sailing on beloved Casco Bay. He was a gun enthusiast, avid reader and found pleasure in caring for the many pets he had throughout his lifetime.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Lockhart-Dascenzo, of Brunswick; mother, Audrey Loud; sisters, Patty Kupidlowski and husband, Peter, Carol Kelley and husband, Jeff, and Karen Reid; brother, Lee Dascenzo and wife, Cara; and eight nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of his life on Saturday, April 5, at the Maine Street Baptist Church, Brunswick, at 12:30 p.m. and a reception to follow at Scarlet Begonias, 16 Station Ave., Brunswick, from 1:30-4 p.m.
