TOPSHAM — Betsy Batchelder Clough, 93, of Topsham, died July 20 at her residence.

Clough was born in the parsonage of the Elijah Kellogg Church on March 18, 1920, the daughter of Abbie Allen and Lawrence Kellogg Batchelder, of Harpswell. She was the great-granddaughter of Elijah Kellogg.

She graduated from Brunswick High School in the Class of 1939, and married Philip James Clough on June 10, 1944. They had 62 happy years together. Phillip Clough died Oct. 28, 2006.

Her interests included golf, bridge, sewing, crafts and church functions. Clough and her husband also edited two books on covered bridges in the 1960s.

Surviving are niece Jane Collins, nephews Merle Pierce and David Hackett, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

A memorial service was held Tuesday at the Elijah Kellogg Church, in Harpswell Center. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Clough’s memory to First Parish Church, 9 Cleveland St., Brunswick, ME 04011, or to Elijah Kellogg Church, 917 Harpswell Neck Road, Harpswell, ME 04079.
