FALL RIVER, Mass. — Benjamin Alexander Brick, 38, died May 26.

Born on May 10, 1973, in New Kensington, Penn., he was a son of Ralph and Peggy (Copp) Brick.

He was raised in Maine, attended Durham Elementary School and graduated from Brunswick High School in 1991.

After attending the University of Maine at Farmington for nearly two years, he began his career as a lobsterman.

A life-long outdoorsman, he was an expert skier and loved hiking and sailing.

Family and friends were important to him, and despite living many miles apart, he shared a strong bond with his brother Dana.

Cooking was a hobby for him, and he took pleasure in making meals for family and friends and having family cookouts. For the last few years he had a vegetable garden, and raised tomatoes, cucumbers, squash and herbs.

He also enjoyed playing pool, and participated in several pool tournaments.

He is survived by his loving parents, Ralph and Peggy Brick of Durham; his brother Dana of Denver, Colo., his “Nana,” Shirlie Copp of Durham; the woman he loved, Autumn Dean; his uncle Robert and wife Griselda, his uncle Frank and partner Christie, his aunt Sheral and uncle Clair of Florida; and extended family in Pennsylvania and Maine.

A memorial celebration will be held on Saturday, June 4, at the First Congregational Church of Durham, located at the intersection of U.S. Route 9 and 136. A brief service upstairs will be followed by a gathering of friends and family downstairs. All are welcome.

Memorial donations may be made to the Ben Brick Scholarship Fund, c/o Lisbon Community Credit Union, P.O. Box 878, 325 Lisbon St., Lisbon, ME 04250-0878.
