CAPE ELIZABETH — Runners still looking for a spot in the TD Beach to Beacon 10K Road Race on Aug. 2 can secure a bib from Rippleffect, the race beneficiary, in exchange for fundraising.

More than 100 of the entries were available from Rippleffect and prior beneficiaries, according to a press release Tuesday. Information is available at rippleffect.net/b2b or by contacting Rippleffect at 791-7870 or info@rippleffect.net.

Last month, the race granted entries to 4,000 runners in an online application process that lasted just 4 minutes 32 seconds. A lottery filled the remaining 1,900 spots for the race, which is now in its 17th year.

Rippleffect is a Portland-based non-profit youth and community development organization leading outdoor adventure programs on Cow Island, in area schools and in the mountains of western Maine. Past beneficiaries of the race include The Opportunity Alliance, Junior Achievement of Maine, and Greater Portland Big Brothers Big Sisters.
