PORTLAND — The Back Cove Neighborhood Association is throwing a block party this weekend on Baxter Boulevard.
The boulevard will be closed to automobile traffic from Vannah Street to Payson Park on Sunday, Aug. 8, from noon to 3 p.m.
The annual party, now in its third year, is open to the public and the BCNA plans to serve free refreshments from a booth near Vannah Street. People are also encouraged to bring a picnic lunch or a dessert to share.
