BATH — Downtown Bath is the place to express some holiday spirit on Friday, Dec. 18.

A “Holiday Open House” evening will be held, with stores remaining open until 8 p.m. The lobbies of First Federal Savings, KeyBank, Bath Savings Institution and The Kennebec Co. at the Customs House will also be open from 5-8 p.m. to provide shoppers with warm places to enjoy music, entertainment and refreshments.

The Trolley will depart from City Hall every half hour from 6-8 p.m. for caroling through Bath’s streets.

The evening will also begin downtown Bath’s Window Decorating Contest, which is sponsored by Brackett’s Market. Shoppers are encouraged to choose their favorite store window; voting runs from the evening of Dec. 18 to Dec. 20. Ballot boxes will be placed at Brackett’s Market, Hallett’s Clock and at participating downtown businesses.

All ballots will go into a drawing for a $100 Gift of Bath gift certificate. Winners of the contest and drawing will be announced at Bath’s annual community caroling party, “Sing! It’s Christmas!,” at the Chocolate Church Arts Center on Dec. 21.
