BATH — Christmas is often about the kids, and what Santa will be bringing them this year.

But this weekend, the Studio Theatre of Bath is showing that the holiday is just as much about the adults, too.

“Twisted Christmas,” billed as a “Nice and Naughty Evening of Entertainment,” plays at the Winter Street Center, 880 Washington St., at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 12-13.

Tickets are $12 at the door. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and a cash bar will be available.

The event, with songs, skits and audience participation, offers a “festive evening full of stress-busting, mood-lifting unpredictable comic relief for grownups,” Studio Theatre President April Purinton said in a press release.

“There are many fabulous and heartwarming family-friendly events this time of year – this is not one of them,” Tamara Lilly, Studio Theatre board member, said Tuesday via email. “It’s a fun night of being silly and a bit naughty with adult humor and content. Nothing too overt – just good, not-so-clean fun with a talented group of singers and actors. We laugh so hard at rehearsals – we look forward to sharing that with the audience.”

The success of last year’s Christmas show inspired Studio Theatre to present “Cabin Fevah Relievah” last February. That show will return Feb. 27-28, 2015, Lilly said.
