BATH — Morse High School’s production in this year’s One-Act Play Competition, which centers around a video store that wants nothing to do with DVDs and Blu-Ray, won the regional round March 8 and now advances to the state level.
Camden Hills Regional High School hosts that round on Friday, March 22. Morse, which performed at states in 2005 and 2006, takes the stage at 8 p.m. Morse is the only school showing an original student-written play at either Class A or B sites, according to Kevin O’Leary, an English and drama teacher at Morse with 11 one-act productions under his belt.
Morse’s play, “Str8-2-Vid3o” (pronounced “Straight to Video”) was written by senior Sophie Mayo. The comedy was one of nine school plays to be performed at Morse during the March 8-9 regional competition.
The state competition is followed by the New England regional contest in April.
