BATH — The Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Labor Day weekend from Friday, Sept. 4 through Monday, Sept. 7.
Motorists will be briefly stopped, checked and given a pamphlet explaining the department’s mission.
The checkpoint is funded through a grant from the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety’s 2009 OUI Enforcement Campaign. The grant also paid for impaired driving enforcement patrols this summer, the department said.
