BATH — A 30-year-old city resident died Saturday, April 5, from injuries he received the day before in a motor vehicle collision.
Alexander Coffin, who died at Maine Medical Center in Portland, was driving his 2005 Suzuki 600 motorcycle north on Oak Grove Avenue, and Debbie Knowlton, 46, of Bath, was heading south on Oak Grove Avenue and turning left onto Crawford Drive on April 4 when the collision occurred, according to preliminary police reports.
Knowlton, who was driving a 2011 Kia Sorento, was not injured.
The investigation, including blood test results, vehicle autopsies, and accident reconstruction reports, is expected to take several weeks, according to Police Chief Mike Field.
There was no immediate evidence of alcohol being involved, and it was unknown whether speed was a factor, Field said.
