BATH — The Bath Housing Development Corp. received a $5,000 grant for a gardening partnership effort between seniors and youths.
The Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation grants will fund a collaboration between Access Health, Bath Housing, and Bath Area Family YMCA school-age youth programs.
Bath Housing’s maintenance team and Morse High School freshmen built and prepared 40 raised garden beds, and Bath Housing residents and members of Bath Area Family YMCA will tend those gardens this summer and fall.
Cooking classes will be held at all of Bath Housing’s community kitchen spaces, with recipes featuring food harvested from the gardens.
