BATH — The Bath Heritage Days celebration leads the list of July 4 events in the Mid-Coast region.

The popular festival begins July 2 and runs through July 5 and features a wide variety of attractions, including fireworks, a parade, amusement rides, music and special dining deals at participating restaurants.

The Heritage Days fireworks display will take place July 5 at 9:15 p.m.

Brunswick and Topsham typically defer to the Heritage Days celebration, hosting just a few low-key events.

Harpswell, however, will feature its own fireworks display on July 3 on Bailey Island. The show begins at 10 p.m. Fireworks will be launched from Cook’s Lobster House, allowing people on both sides of Harpswell Sound to view the pyrotechnics.

The Harpswell fireworks will be moved to July 5 in the event of rain.

Harpswell’s Bailey Island will also be the site of the annual Independence Day Ice Cream Social, held July 4 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bailey Island Library Hall.

The Brunswick Rotary, meanwhile, will hold children’s games on the downtown mall on July 4. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The Bath Heritage Days parade will be held July 4 at 11 a.m. The event features a past/future theme centering on the 1920s and 80 years into future.

An assortment of bands will play throughout the four-day event.
