HARPSWELL — Barbara Taylor, 82, of South Dyers Cove Road, died Sept. 8 at Freeport Nursing Home.
She was born Dec. 10, 1932, in Bath, the daughter of Ralph and Anna Levesque Fitch. She graduated from Morse High School. On Sept. 19, 1953, Barbara married Stephen Taylor Jr.
She retired from Shaw’s Supermarkets after 20 years of employment. Later, Taylor and her husband traveled extensively, visiting Hawaii and the Caribbean, and taking many camping trips. She also enjoyed reading, quilting and being with her family.
She was a member of American Legion Post No. 202 Auxiliary.
Taylor was predeceased by a son, Michael Taylor.
She is survived by her husband; her daughters, Diane, Brenda and Patsy; and her sons, Dennis and Roger, all of Harpswell. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Sept. 12 at Stetson’s Funeral Home, in Brunswick, with the Rev. Gordon Cook officiating.
