BATH — Barbara Rose Wyman, 82, died on July 21 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.

She was born in Bath, daughter of Swanton H. and Margaret Donahue Wyman. She attended Small Point schools and graduated from Morse High School in 1947.  In 1951, she graduated from Gorham State Teachers College, where she had been crowned Winter Carnival Campus Queen.

After graduating from Gorham State,  she taught in Orono for two years and then went on to live and teach in Gloucester, Mass. for 32 years. After retiring, she returned to Small Point and worked at Hermit Island Gift Shop with her “sidekick” Dotty Hinds. She retired to Dike’s Landing in Bath. 

Wyman was an avid Red Sox fan. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church and was a reader there for many years. She served on the board of the Bath Housing Authority.

She is predeceased by her parents; her sister, Kathleen Robson, of Woolwich;  and brothers Martin J. Wyman, of Harpswell, and Swanton Wyman, Jr., of Small Point.

Wyman is survived by brother George F. Wyman and his wife, Barbara Ann, of Brunswick; and Gerald E. Wyman of Phippsburg. Also surviving is her beloved cat, Molly.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Mary’s Church on July 26. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Phippsburg Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 83, Phippsburg, ME 04562.
