BRUNSWICK — Barbara Kendall, 90, died March 14, at her home.

She was born in Rumford on July 30, 1925, the daughter of Harold and Agnes Harlow Holman, and graduated from Wilson Academy in 1942.

On July 3, 1954, she married James H. Kendall II, who was a Navy pilot stationed at Brunswick Navy Air Station. The couple later lived in Africa, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Following her husband’s retirement from the Navy he attended Boston University School of Law, where he later became assistant dean. In 1965, the Kendalls moved to Maine. Kendall was always active in church, community affairs and musical events. 

She was predeceased by her husband in 2006, and a son, James H. Kendall III, in 1988.

Kendall is survived by two daughters, Deborah Gast-Kendall, of the Netherlands and Rebecca Calden, of Brunswick; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28, at Maine Street Baptist Church, Brunswick. Interment will be Growstown Cemetery.
