Yarmouth — Barbara (Partridge) Dyer, 89, died March 15.

She was born in Somerville, Mass., on Feb. 7, 1920, the daughter of Ashley W. and Jennie Maud Partridge.

Her favorite childhood memories included spending time in Blue Hill with her family, sailing on the Vagabond and relaxing on the beach.

In 1941, she graduated from Colby College with a degree in French.

She married Vernelle “Cappy” Dyer on Oct. 17, 1950, and together raised three children in an old farmhouse in Yarmouth.

She was a quiet person who loved music, flowers, traveling and learning. Her quality of selfless giving is a legacy that she leaves for all who loved her.

Surviving are her husband, “Cappy”; children, Dee Lynne and her husband, Bob of Vienna, Bruce and his wife, Pam of Westbrook, and Donna and her husband, Rick of Ithaca, N.Y.; and grandchildren, Matthew, Nathaniel, Christopher, Caroline and Victoria.

Memorial services were held last week.

Arrangements are by Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth.
