SCARBOROUGH — Barbara Campbell Jannelle, 79, died at the Pine Point Nursing Center March 4 with family at her side after a long illness.

Born in Boston on March 18, 1930, she was a daughter of Stanley S. and Alma Curran Campbell.

In 1953 she married Neal Alan Janelle, Sr., and had four children together, Karyn, Alan, Brenda and Brian.

She and her husband enjoyed spending time at their camp at Sebago Lake, RV camping, going to antique auctions and flea markets.

She was known for her fun-loving nature and love of crazy hats.

She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Neal Jannelle, Sr., and a brother, Robert Campbell.

Survivors include her children Karyn (Jannelle) Pasquine and her husband Paul of Bangor, Neal Allan Jannelle Jr., of Alexandria, Va., Brenda( Jannelle) Pettinicco of Naples, and Brian A. Jannelle of Litchfield; seven grandchildren, Steven and Laura Pasquine, Stephanie and Kimberly Jannelle, Joseph Pettinicco, and Troy and Drew Jannelle; a sister, Priscilla Proudfoot of Gorham, and a brother, Donald D. Campbell of Snomish, Wash.

A period of visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 13, with an 11 a.m. funeral service to follow at Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland.

Memorial donations may be made to the Maine Transplant Program/ Patient Support Services, c/o Southern Maine Dialysis Center, 1600C Congress St., Portland, ME 04102.
