PORTLAND — Barbara A. Moran, 56, died unexpectedly at her home on Oct. 10.

She was born in Portland on March 30, 1957, and grew up on Munjoy Hill. Moran attended local schools and in 1975, graduated from Waynflete School with honors. She also attended Syracuse University in New York. Moran was a bright, creative person who had many interests, such as art, dancing, reading and jewelry-making, but her true passion was for music. For more than 20 years, Moran took pleasure in her job as a band promoter for Geno’s Rock Club in Portland. She relished in the many long-lasting friendships that she developed there.

She was predeceased by her parents, Davielee and Marie A. Moran.

She is survived by her sister, Beth Walsh, and husband, William; brothers Scott and wife, Patricia, Mark, and wife, Sheila, David, and wife, Elizabeth, and John, and wife, Debra; nieces and nephews, Mark, and wife, Dodi, Theresa, and husband, Michael, Maria, and husband, Rocco, John, Gabrielle, Christina, Will and Cole; great-nieces and nephews, Rio, Sevino, Landon, Magnus, Enzo and Shelby. She will also be missed by her extended family and many friends.

Visiting hours will be held Oct. 15, at A.T. Hutchins Funeral & Cremation Services, Portland, where a memorial service followed. Burial at Calvary Cemetery will take place at a later date.
