A pre-Halloween party with a maritime flair wil be hosted by The Chocolate Church Arts Center Friday, Oct. 30. The 7:30 p.m. concert will feature The Squid Jiggers, with two opening acts, for a full evening of hauntingly festive musical storytelling and sea chanteys. Dave Rowe and Troy R. Bennett combine their talents on guitar, bass, bodran and tin whistle to back their robust vocal harmonies. The evening will begin with The Montsweagers, who are from Woolwich and play Celtic tunes, old time Americana and roots music. Then Alison Lee Freeman, who specializes in sea chanteys, will take the stage to do a set of American folk songs and parlor music from the 1800s. Audience members are encouraged to dress in nautical attire to be eligible for door prizes and raffles. There will also be a cash bar.
