Freeport Community Library is displaying exhibits by two Maine artists beginning Dec. 1 and throughout the month. “Sparrow Dreams of Summer” is a collection of avian-themed paintings by an artist with the appropriate name of Wren Pearson. Using acrylics, canvas and wood, her folk-like art recalls the colors and shapes that disappear during a Maine winter. “Watching the birds at the feeder, I wondered of their winter dreams and if they missed the sunflowers and the swallows,” Pearson recently said. In addition, the library is exhibiting “Images” by France Shea, a collection of her digitally altered and hand-colored photographs, often depicting simple objects and natural scenes. The FCL is at 10 Library Drive, Freeport.
