“Best Behavior” is an exhibition of paintings by Portland artist Anne Buckwalter that explore feelings of fear and panic in prelude and aftermath – emotions just before or just after an event has occurred. The subjects include folklore, horror and loss, according to Buckwalter, who earned a master’s degree from the Maine College of Art in 2012. Her show, including this untitled work, is on display to April 24 at Vestibule 594, a gallery that opened earlier this month at 594 Congress St., Portland.
