“Birds of the Sea and Sky” is an artistic aviary opening this week at Markings Gallery in Bath. The exhibit depicts “the movement, the stillness, the detail” of birds, in works of paint, fiber, clay, metal, paper and even silk by nearly a dozen local artists, according to gallery owner Judy Barker. “Birds,” including this untitled tile work, runs from April 16 to May 31. Markings is at 50 Front St., and hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except for Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
