HARPSWELL ROAD — Arthur W. Elie, 72, of Harpswell, died at home July 11, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Brunswick on July 14, 1940, to Arthur L. and Georgia Belle Elie. He attended Brunswick schools and was a member of the Brunswick High School Class of 1957.
Elie served in the U.S. Navy from 1957-1961. He then worked for most of his life as a painting contractor in Portland, Ore., and the Brunswick area.
He is predeceased by his daughter, Pamela
He is survived by his wife, Patricia, sons Arthur K. and Douglas, daughters Tamara and Rebekah, brothers Fred and Clifford, sisters Pamalee and Meredith, 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall, in Brunswick, on July 15. Burial in the family lot at Lunt Cemetery, Brunswick, will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Elie’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
