MONROE, N.H. — Arthur Robert “Bob” Meserve, 74, died May 10 with his loving family present during his final days after a short battle with cancer.

Born in St. Johnsbury, Vt., Aug. 27, 1936, the son of Howard and Marguerite (McLaren) Meserve, he graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1954.

In 1958 he graduated from the University of Vermont and served in the Vermont Air National Guard until he was honorably discharged in December 1964.

On Aug. 1, 1964, he married his wife of 46 years, Janet Wilson, and they raised two children together, Christine and Richard.

He actively supported his children while growing up, and valued attending their school sporting events and other activities. Some of his favorite times were spent with his wife and family at their summer cottage. He also treasured being a part of his childrens’ lives as they became adults and parents themselves. His commitment and involvement to his family carried on with his beloved grandchildren.

He had a long and successful career in the building supplies industry.

Jennifer of Falmouth; and six grandchildren, Shannon, Katrina, Hannah, Kaitlin, Josh, and Jake.
