FREEPORT — A group of 14 original pieces of art that have been displayed throughout town since August will be sold at a live auction this Saturday, Dec. 5.

The exhibit, “Experiencing Freeport: Knowing our Town through Art,” includes the 14 pieces that depict unique places in Freeport. Visitors are invited to view the artwork and then attend the auction at 7:30 p.m. at Freeport Square, 140 Main St. The doors open at 7 p.m. and guests are invited to stay after the auction and enjoy live music, food, and a cash bar. Half of the proceeds will go to the artists and the other half will be used to support future art projects.

This project was made possible through a grant from the Maine Arts Commission and was sponsored by L.L. Bean, Berenson Associates, Key Bank, the Town of Freeport, Freeport Community Improvement Association, Freeport Square Gallery and Freeport Creative Arts. Every artist featured in the display is a member of Freeport Creative Arts.

Admission is $10 per person and tickets are available in advance at Freeport Square or at the door.
