HARPSWELL — The Orr’s and Bailey Island Fire Department is seeking applicants for its annual scholarship in honor of Sue Cary, a former emergency responder with the department who died in 2007.
The scholarship is intended to help responders, recruits and family members of Orr’s and Bailey Island emergency responders pay for education beyond high school. Responders, recruits and family members from the Cundy’s Harbor Fire Department are also eligible.
Application materials for the scholarship should be submitted by May 31, and are available at Orr’s and Bailey Island Fire Department, Cundy’s Harbor Fire Department, and Harpswell Town Office. They can also be accessed online at www.obifd.org.
