FREEPORT — Freeport Wild Bird Supply, formerly of Yarmouth, has partnered with Nikon Sport Optics to sponsor the 2009 Spring Hawkwatch at Bradbury Mountain State Park in Pownal.
Danny Akers of Ankeny, Iowa, will be at the peak of the mountain from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day through May 15 as the hawkcounter for the Bradbury Mountain Raptor Research Project. Members of the public are welcome to join him, and there will be binoculars provided by Nikon for visitors.
The hawkwatch is free, but there is an entrance fee to the park. For more information, contact freeportwildbird@yahoo.com.
