TOPSHAM — Annette (deGrandpre) Hartford, 80, died Sept. 17 at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn. Hartford was born in Newburyport, Mass., on March 4, 1932, the daughter of Eugene and Christine Ouellette deGrandpre.

Hartford lived in Haverhill, Mass., and worked for Allen Shoe for many years before moving to Brunswick in 1985. She worked at Eastland Shoe Factory in Freeport, and upon retiring, moved to Barron’s Hill Apartments in Topsham. She resided there until falling ill in August.

Hartford enjoyed spending time with family and was actively involved with All Saints Parish. After Sunday Mass, she frequently went to breakfast with friends or visited those who were housebound. She also enjoyed traveling to Canada each year.

She is survived by four children, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild: Joyce Hewey of Haverhill, Mass.; Paula Bastarache and her daughter, Shelley, and granddaughter, Kiandra, of Haverhill, Mass.; Michael and Patricia Hartford, and their children Elizabeth, Samantha and David, of Greensborough, N.C.; and Ernest and Deborah Hartford, and their children Ashley, Kyle and Wyatt, of Brunswick. She also is survived by her older brother, Charles deGrandpre, of Freeport; nephew Richard deGrandpre and his wife, Judy; nephew Chuck deGrandpre and his wife, Cheryl; and nephew Jim DeGrandpre, of Freeport. 

A funeral was held Sept. 21 at St. John the Baptist Church-All Saints Parish in Brunswick, with the Rev. Frank Murray officiating.
