TOPSHAM — Anne B. Philippon, 77, of Philippon Drive, died July 14 after battling Lou Gehrig’s disease (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) since her diagnosis in March 2014.

Philippon was born Sept. 28, 1937, in the Bronx, New York, the daughter of David and Pia Maria Edwards.??

On June 24, 1961, she married Thomas M. Doyle. The couple had a son, Timothy Lee, and a daughter, Marcy Ann.?? On July 28, 1985, Anne married Real Philippon, and together they shared many happy years.

Anne was employed for 28 years in civil service at the Brunswick Naval Air Station.??

In her free time, she was active in the Red Hat Society. She and Real also were members of the Ryder Senior Bowling League and the Sage Swingers Square Dance Club.??

She was predeceased by her parents and by her brother, Albert Edwards.??

Philippon is survived by her husband, Real; her son, Timothy Doyle; her daughter, Marcy Doyle, of Topsham; and her granddaughter, Erin Ashley Brehm, of Hollywood, Florida.

She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Winsome, of Sparkill, New York; a stepson, William, and his wife, Patricia; a stepdaughter, Karen, and her husband, Donald Sanders, of Topsham; and her stepdaughter, Laurie Philippon, of Palm Harbor, Florida.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Aug. 1, at 11 a.m., at the Mid-Coast Presbyterian Church in Topsham, with the Rev. Diane Hugo officiating.??

The family extends thanks to the aides, nurses and therapists of the Pinetree Society, CHANS and the ALS Society. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to these organizations.
