PORTLAND — Ann E. Farstad, 76, of Portland, died July 24.

She was born Aug. 19, 1936, the daughter of Caitano and Marie Dorthea Fernandez. She grew up in Portland, graduating from Cathedral High School in 1954. In 1966, she married Robert W. Farstad. They raised their daughter, Julie, and were married for 35 years before his passing in 2001. She was very athletic and enjoyed bowling, games and was an avid fan of all New England sports teams.

In addition to her husband, Farstad was predeceased by her parents.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie McGowan, and husband, Matt; her sisters, Margaret Rose, and Marie Pomerleau and husband, Louis, Jr; her niece and goddaughter, Richielle Rose, and partner, Jerry Blanchard; her niece, Monique Brown, and husband, Alex, and their daughter, Elizabeth; her nephew, Eric Rose and his children, Cheyenne, Ciara and Di;, her niece, Thyiace Rose; her nephew, Louis Pomerleau III, and his wife, Nina, and her nephew, Jeffrey Gomes, and his wife, Karen.

Visiting hours were held Friday at A.T. Hutchins Funeral and Cremation Services, 660 Brighton Ave, Portland.
