SCARBOROUGH — Anita L. Delano, 66, died Saturday, Oct. 30 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.

Born in Bath on May 22, 1944, she was a daughter of Byron S. and Shirley (Reay) Safford.

On Jan. 18, 1964, she married Douglas A. Delano at the First Congregational Church in South Portland.

Over the years she worked at Fairchild Semiconductor, Nacki Bearing, and as a photo finisher at Konica Photo Labs for 25 years.

She loved to knit afghans and would make them for her home, family and friends.

Walking along Pine Point Beach collecting special stones and shells, or just watching the ocean, brought her great joy.
