A season of triumph on the gridiron, pitch, fields, trails, courts and courses of southern Maine resulted in many all-star mentions for local standouts.

Here’s a glimpse:

Football

The best season yet in Forecaster Country saw several local players named to the Campbell Conference all-star team.

In Class B, Falmouth running back Connor Aube, defensive back Sean Bryant, guard Drew Chamberlain, defensive lineman Logan Herodes and wide receiver Austin Wheeler and Greely defensive lineman Evan McCarthy and linebacker Sam Peck were all honored.

In Class C, Freeport running back Brady LaFrance and Yarmouth running back Cody Cook, running back Jack Snyder, quarterback John Thoma, linebacker Ricky Tillotson and running back Jack Venden were selected.

Greely’s Matt Pisini and Yarmouth’s Cook, Venden, Paul McNeil and Tyler Waaler all qualified for the All-Academic team.

Boys’ soccer

Three players from Class B champion Yarmouth, Henry Coolidge, Patrick Grant and Luke Groothoff, were named to the Western Maine Conference boys’ Class A/B soccer all-conference team. They were joined by Falmouth’s Jack Engelberger, Jack Scribner, Jonah Spiegel and Ben Wuesthoff, Freeport’s Nate Small and Greely’s Jacob Nason, Austin Nowinski and Lucas Watt.

North Yarmouth Academy’s Xander Bartone, Bobby Murray, Thomas Pitts and Jeremy Thelven were all named to the WMC Class C squad.

Falmouth’s Engelberger and Spiegel, Greely’s Nason and Watt, NYA’s Murray and Pitts and Yarmouth’s Coolidge, Grant, Groothoff and Jon Groothoff were all named to all-region teams.

Girls’ soccer

On the girls’ side, Falmouth’s Emma England, Lucy Mahoney, Tyler Spence and Amelia Waite, Freeport’s Courtney Broderick and Becca Cameron, Greely’s Maddy Cyr, Izzy Hutnak, Jocelyn Mitiguy and Maggie Reed and Yarmouth’s Lauren Bartlett, Katie Clemmer and Sara D’Appolonia all made the WMC Class A/B squad.

NYA’s Emily Baker was named to the WMC Class C team.

Falmouth’s Spence, Greely’s Hutnak, Mitiguy, Reed and Ellie Schad, NYA’s Baker and Yarmouth’s D’Appolonia were all named to all-region teams.

Field hockey

The WMC field hockey Division I all-star first-team included Falmouth’s Sydney Bell, Freeport’s Morgan Karnes, Greely’s Danita Storey and Yarmouth’s Tori Messina and Brianna Morrill.

Falmouth’s Maddie Rouhana, Freeport’s Bailey Karnes, Greely’s Lizzie Brown and Yarmouth’s Abby McDowell made the second-team.

In Division II, NYA’s Keeley Bartolini, Linnea Hull, Kiersten Marr, Mackenzie Sangster and Savannah Shaw were all named to the first-team.

NYA’s Jenna Block and Callie Sturgeon made the second-team.

NYA’s Hull was named the WMC Class C Player of the Year.

Falmouth’s Bell, Freeport’s Bailey Karnes and Morgan Karnes, NYA’s Hull and Yarmouth’s Messina all made the all-state team.

Cross country

Grace Cowles, Abigail Hamilton and Anneka Murrin of Class B champion Yarmouth made the WMC girls’ cross country first-team, along with Falmouth’s Mira Wyman and Greely’s Katherine Leggat-Barr and Carolyn Todd.

Falmouth’s Hannah Berzinis, Gina Pardi and Kaileigh Wimert, Freeport’s Lily Johnston and Hannah Schnyder, Yarmouth’s Georgia Giese and Fiona Ahearne of Maine Coast Waldorf qualified for the second-team.

Henry Jaques and Chandler Vincent of Class B champion Freeport were joined by Falmouth’s Sean Soucy, Greely’s Kyle Hansen, Ryan Morrison and Max Stickney, Yarmouth’s Luke Laverdiere and MCW’s Tucker Pierce on the boys’ first-team.

Falmouth’s John Auer and Conner Piers, Freeport’s Erik Brobst and Yarmouth’s Sammy Potter qualified for the second-team.

Golf

The WMC golf all-conference team included NYA’s Dana Nichols.

In the SMAA, Falmouth’s Alex Whitmore made the Northern division first-team.

Falmouth’s Reed Lonsdale and Riley Lonsdale were named to the Northern division second-team.

Greely’s Sam Burgoyne and Aidan Roberts made the Central division first-team.

Greely’s Joe Piwowarski made the second-team.

Greely’s Erin Holmes qualified for the SMAA girls’ all-star team.
