PORTLAND — Alta Everett Watson, 92, died June 21 in Portland.

Born in Lewiston on July 21, 1918, the daughter of Bernard G. Everett and Frances Marston Everett, she attended Auburn schools and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1936.

After high school, she attended Bliss Business College.

She lived and worked in the Lewiston/Auburn area for many years until she retired in 1980.

In 1984 she moved to Cape Elizabeth and was a member of the Women’s Literacy Union.

She enjoyed playing bridge with different groups in the area and liked solving crossword puzzles.

Her sister Edith Everett Goodwin, brother Charles Everett and grandson Brian Watson predeceased her.

Surviving are her son Richard Watson and wife Carol of Falmouth; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, at Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland, with a reception to follow.
