FREEPORT — The Historical Society will host a chocolate tasting and discussion with food historian Sandra Oliver on Sunday, Feb. 5.

The program, called Greeting from the Heart, will be held at Harrington House, 45 Main St., and will start at 2 p.m.

Oliver will give a presentation about how chocolate was incorporated into American cookery, and Andy Wilbur, from Wilbur’s of Maine, will demonstrate how the Maine Potato Needham is made.

Participants will have the opportunity to taste a 19th century chocolate drink, sample two cakes made from historic recipes, and sample contemporary chocolates from Wilbur’s.

Tickets are $10 per person and $8 for society members. For more information, call 865-3170 or visit freeporthistoricalsociety.org.
