PORTLAND — Incumbent state Sen. Justin Alfond, D-Portland, won re-election in the Senate District 8 race. With unofficial results being reported late Tuesday, Alfond had defeated Green Independent Asher Platts by a margin of 12,491 to 5,124.
In District 9, Rep. Anne Haskell, D-Portland, won election in the senate with 14,027 votes. Republican Kirsten Martin received 5,316.
