Albertine L. Parker, 82: Loving family caregiver

FALMOUTH — Albertine “Tina” Parker, 82, died at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House April 29 with her loving family at her side after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

A daughter of Arthur Leslie and Cora Stults Foster, she was born in Portland and raised in Falmouth, where she lived her entire life.

She met her husband of 62 years, Eugene Parker, at a Grange Hall dance, and they married in November 1949.

A homemaker and lifelong caregiver, she cared for her younger siblings, her husband’s grandmother and mother and was an amazing caregiver to her own mother who lived with her and battled dementia. 

The mother of two daughters born 21 years apart, she stayed home and lovingly raised both girls, making each one her whole world.

She loved animals, and enjoyed riding horses with her husband in the Cumberland County Riding Club and spending time with her dog Simon.

She was predeceased her husband Eugene B. Parker in August 2010, her brother Arthur Foster, Jr., her sister Lois Hope, her grandson Daniel Josephs, and her great-grandson Parker Jensen.

Surviving are her two daughters, Lois and her husband William Roy and their five children, William Roy, Jr., Stephen Roy, Kevin Roy, Rebecca Roy Fredericks, Christie Roy Jensen, and their families; her daughter Ellen and her husband Jeffery Josephs and their four children Kathryn, Bethany, Megan and Hannah Josephs; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy Foster and Stephen Foster; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours were held Tuesday, May 3. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 4, at Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth.
